06-05-26

Khamzat Chimaev has turned up the heat ahead of UFC 328, releasing footage of a past sparring session with upcoming opponent Sean Strickland just days before their title clash.

On Tuesday, Chimaev shared a short clip of the old training run, with the video lasting less than 30 seconds and showing him mostly on the offensive. Chimaev and Strickland are set to meet for the 185-pound belt in Saturday’s main event at UFC 328, which takes place at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

The sparring clip includes audio of someone saying, "quit" and "I am bullying weak people," as well as "a f*cking coward" as the exchanges play out.

In the buildup to UFC 328, both fighters have made threats of outside-of-the-cage violence. Chimaev and Strickland have also offered differing accounts of their past training together, with Chimaev referencing dominating former champion Dricus du Plessis, who holds two wins over Strickland. Strickland has publicly insulted Chimaev, while Chimaev has encouraged Strickland to continue their war of words.
