Khamzat Chimaev has gone public with a call for an immediate five-round rematch with Sean Strickland after losing his middleweight title at UFC 328 in Newark.
Chimaev, who dropped the belt to Strickland in their main event clash, made it clear he wants another shot and does not want the result left to American judges this time. He directly addressed the former opponent, saying, "I’m waiting, tell me when you’re ready Sean Strickland," before adding, "Next time somebody has to be dead."
The back-and-forth spilled onto X, where one fan replied to Chimaev, "You’re fighting Brendan Allen in the APEX pal," while another ominous message read, "death is coming." Nassourdine Imavov also chimed in on the platform, referencing his own decision loss to Strickland at UFC Vegas 67 in early 2023.
In the background of Chimaev’s push for a rematch, Sean Strickland has indicated he favors another bout with Nassourdine Imavov over running it back immediately with Chimaev.
