Kevin Holland has been forced out of his scheduled UFC Oklahoma City matchup with Jacobe Smith due to injury, removing a key main-card bout from the July 18 event.
Holland’s withdrawal comes as a result of an unspecified injury that has left him unable to compete. The welterweight clash with Smith had been slated for the main card in Oklahoma City.
It is not yet known if Jacobe Smith will remain on the card with a new opponent or if the bout will be scrapped entirely.
UFC Oklahoma City is set to take place July 18 and is headlined by a middleweight fight between Dricus du Plessis and Kamaru Usman. Usman is returning to 185 pounds for the main event.
Before this injury, Holland was coming off a unanimous decision win over Randy Brown in his most recent UFC appearance, while Smith is a former standout wrestler at Oklahoma State who later turned his focus to MMA.
