Kaan Ofli made a statement at UFC Fight Night 280, submitting Javier Reyes in the first round of their featherweight bout.
Ofli secured an arm-triangle choke to finish Reyes at 4:16 of Round 1 at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan. The win came in their featherweight matchup under the UFC banner.
Speaking to Michael Bisping in his post-fight interview, Ofli summed up his performance by saying, "I finished him twice in the round – that's $100,000, baby," and added, "I knew I had to be patient, I knew I had the tools to put this guy out. I was, and I found my shot."
With the victory, Ofli improves his MMA record to 14-4-1 and his UFC mark to 3-2, extending his winning streak to three after dropping his promotional debut. Reyes now holds a 23-6 MMA record and 1-1 in the UFC.
