Joshua Van Withdraws From UFC 327 Flyweight Title Defense in Miami
04-04-26

Joshua Van is out of his scheduled UFC 327 flyweight title defense against Tatsuro Taira, pulling from next week’s event in Miami for undisclosed reasons.

It is currently unclear if Taira will receive a new opponent at UFC 327 or if the flyweight title bout will be shifted to a later date. UFC 327 is set to take place April 11 at the Kaseya Center.

The card is headlined by Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg for the vacant light heavyweight championship.

Van captured the 125-pound title in December at UFC 323 when Alexandre Pantoja suffered an arm injury seconds into their bout. He holds a professional record of 16-2.

Taira, 18-1 as a professional, earned a second-round knockout win over former champion Brandon Moreno on the same night Van won the title, marking his eighth win in nine UFC appearances, with six victories coming by stoppage.
