Josh Hokit has weighed in on Ryan Clark’s recent firing from ESPN, focusing on the timing of Clark’s podcast with UFC CEO Dana White.
Clark, a former NFL safety who won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009 and a Sports Emmy in 2023, was among several high-profile layoffs at ESPN. He had previously hosted a now-canceled ESPN show with Daniel Cormier.
After Clark’s departure, a podcast interview with White aired that included discussion of Hokit's controversial comments about Michelle Obama at UFC White House. White condemned Hokit's remarks as "inappropriate" but did not discipline him.
Reacting on social media, Hokit wrote, "FOFO….Podcast with Dana [White] aired a day after he was fired," and added, "Every podcast creates a script of questions days in advance of the show. The mere negative thought towards the ‘Incredible Hok’ brings a curse. Let this be a lesson." He also used the hashtag #HokitCurse in the post.
Hokit is currently ranked No. 5 at 265 pounds and is unbooked at the time of the article.
