Joselyne Edwards Targets Statement Win vs. Norma Dumont in Co-Main Event

Joselyne Edwards is set for the biggest showcase of her UFC career this Saturday, when she meets No. 3-ranked women’s bantamweight Norma Dumont in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 274 at Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

Edwards heads into the matchup after a turbulent stretch that included a unanimous decision loss to Nora Cornolle in France in 2023, a fight she says she entered with a broken hand suffered two weeks before traveling. "It was precisely when I lost to Nora that I saw the decision went to her, and I honestly thought I won that fight," Edwards said.

The hand issues continued into her decision loss to Ailin Perez, which was preceded by a brawl between the two at the UFC Performance Institute. "When I lost to Ailin, I still had my hand injury, and I had my hand immobilized," Edwards said, adding, "I lost that fight for being an idiot, for getting heated and all that."

Those experiences have fueled a more ruthless approach. "Outside the cage, I don't have an issue with anyone, but inside, I'm going to finish you," Edwards said. "I told myself, 'I'm going to do everything for my fights to not go to decision.'"

Now riding a 4-0 run with all wins by stoppage and holding a 17-6 professional record (8-4 UFC), Edwards embraces the moment against Dumont, who is 13-2 in MMA and 9-2 in the UFC. "I'm fighting against No. 3 in the world in UFC," she said. "It's an important moment, and I'm enjoying every second of it. I'm flowing."
