Jose Delano Eyes Two More Fights in 2026 After UFC Debut Win
06-04-26

Jose Delano walked out of UFC Fight Night 272 with a unanimous decision win over Robert Ruchala – and he’s already calling for a busy 2026 schedule.

Delano, now 17-3 in MMA and 1-0 in the UFC, extended his winning streak to five with the victory in his promotional debut. He says he’s ready to return as early as the summer and wants at least two more fights before the end of the year.

"Man, if it's in my power, I want to fight early, maybe three months," Delano said. "If anyone gave me a fight, I'll sign the contract now. I want to fight a lot – two (more) times yet in this year, if it's possible."

The Brazilian featherweight, who entered the promotion through Dana White Contender Series in August 2025, is leaving his next move in the hands of UFC matchmakers.

"I think I trust in Sean Shelby to get the matches and the UFC guys," Delano said. "I only want to fight. (Whoever) he wants to put to me, I will fight."

Reflecting on his debut, Delano was satisfied with both the performance and the experience.

"It was an amazing fight for you fans, and I think I'm very happy about the fight," he said. "It was three rounds of a lot of punches and kicks, and for me, it's good because I'm growing up like a fighter in UFC."
