Jon Jones Reacts After Ciryl Gane Becomes Two-Time Interim Champion
15-06-26

Ciryl Gane became a two-time interim heavyweight champion on Sunday night, finishing Alex Pereira in the co-headliner of UFC Freedom 250 on the White House South Lawn.

Gane stopped Pereira in the second round to claim the interim belt again in a high-profile heavyweight clash at the unique outdoor event in Washington, D.C.

After the fight, Jon Jones reacted on social media to Gane’s victory, posting, "congratulations".

Jones and Gane share history dating back to March 2023, when Jones finished Gane by first-round submission at UFC 285 to claim a vacant heavyweight title. Jones has not competed since defending the heavyweight title in a TKO win over Stipe Miocic in November 2024, later vacating the belt and announcing his retirement.

Before UFC Freedom 250, Jones stated he wanted to fight at the White House, but Dana White did not allow it.
