Jon Jones Addresses Public Image, Fighting Future at Miami Event

Jon Jones opened up about his reputation and recent comments on his fighting future while appearing at a Dirty Boxing event in Miami.

Speaking with reporter Shea Filling, the UFC star reflected on how his status amplifies his missteps. "I am a little bit of a wild guy, and I’m pretty well-known so when I mess up it gets very, very public, but I do believe I’m way more good of a person than I am any negative," Jones said.

Jones, who has 11 UFC light heavyweight title defenses and a brief reign as heavyweight champion, has also lost UFC titles due to violating the promotion's conduct policy and a failed drug test. His history includes a 2015 hit-and-run incident that led the UFC to strip him of the light heavyweight title and suspend him indefinitely, along with suspensions tied to failed drug tests that overturned a 2017 championship win over Daniel Cormier.

Jones has faced arrests for driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, and domestic violence, and was recently filmed confronting a driver after an alleged road rage incident, which he denies involved wrongdoing.

Recently, Jones said there is "no more fighter Jon Jones" but also indicated he had a positive conversation with UFC executive Hunter Campbell about fighting. Reflecting more broadly on his life and image, Jones added, "We all have our things," and "We all have our sides, but I think I’m a pretty good person."
