Johnny Walker ‘Very Disappointed’ After Split-Decision Loss at UFC 327

Johnny Walker did not hide his frustration after dropping a split decision to Dominick Reyes at UFC 327 on April 11, calling his own performance far from his best.

The Miami crowd voiced its displeasure during the bout, chanting that the fight was boring and booing the decision, while Walker left the cage with a swollen foot that he plans to rest for a week before returning to training.

“I’m very disappointed with my performance,” Walker said. “There was a lot of movement, a lot of technical work, nobody wanna take the risk, either me or Dominick Reyes. I know I could do way better than that, that’s not my best. I was so well-prepared, like physically and mentally too, but that wasn’t me. I know I can do better than that. I’m very disappointed with my performance.”

Walker, who now sits at 8-7 with one no contest in the UFC and has won only one of his past five bouts after a previous three-fight winning streak over Anthony Smith, Paul Craig and Ion Cutelaba, also addressed his future.

“I don’t know which division I’m gonna fight [next], but probably gonna be maybe at heavyweight, I don’t know. Let’s see,” he said, later adding, “But I just wanna say sorry for my fans and you guys know that I can do better than that. And I will do better than that next time.”
