23-05-26

Joe Schilling’s return to MMA ended in stunning fashion at PFL Brussels, as he retired mid-fight against Donegi Abena following a foul, resulting in a TKO loss.

Competing at the ING Arena in Belgium, Schilling faced Abena in a bout that lasted just 37 seconds. Abena was ruled the winner by TKO due to retirement.

During an early exchange on the ground, Abena headbutted Schilling while on top in Schilling's guard. The foul led to a point deduction, and referee Mike Beltran paused the action.

Beltran warned Schilling that he would lose if he did not continue. Schilling ultimately refused to fight on and walked out of the cage, making the TKO by retirement official.

Schilling entered the matchup with a 4-7 record, while Abena came in at 1-0.
