Joe Rogan has weighed in on Alex Pereira’s move to heavyweight, breaking down the Brazilian’s interim title clash with Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250.

Pereira is scheduled to face Gane for the interim heavyweight belt in the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250, which will stream on Paramount+ from the White House in Washington DC on Sunday. Betting odds currently list Pereira vs. Gane as a pick'em, with Pereira arriving to fight week weighing 258 pounds.

“Ciryl Gane is a tall order. That's a tall order for your first heavyweight fight in the UFC,” Rogan said while assessing the matchup. “I would say it's a pick'em. Ciryl Gane is really good, and the thing about Ciryl Gane is, the problems he's had in fights are when guys take him down. When guys stand with him, he is very tricky. He's very slick, he's very technical, and he's very light on his feet for a big guy. He moves really well. One of the best movers in the heavyweight division for sure. He's like dancing on his feet. He also does a weird thing off his front leg.”

“It's going to be interesting because I don't know if Pereira is going to have an issue with the movement, if he's going to be able to shut that movement down,” Rogan added. “I don't know if Ciryl Gane is going to want to exchange with him.”

Pereira enters UFC Freedom 250 as a former UFC middleweight champion and light heavyweight champion, attempting to become a three-division champion. Gane is coming off a no contest against UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall due to accidental eye pokes.
