Joaquin Buckley Left Off UFC 328 Presser Despite Main-Card Slot

Joaquin Buckley will not appear at the UFC 328 pre-fight press conference, even though he’s set for a main-card showdown with Sean Brady at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Saturday.

The UFC opted to feature only the main and co-main event fighters at the UFC 328 press conference, leaving both Buckley and Brady off the dais ahead of their welterweight clash.

Buckley made clear how he views his place in the spotlight. "I feel like for me, that's where I should have been, and where I should be. But May 9, I've just got to show the world why I'm a superstar and why I'm a main event fighter."

Coming into UFC 328, Buckley owns a 21-7 MMA record and an 11-5 UFC mark, and recently had a six-fight winning streak snapped by former champion Kamaru Usman in June. He prepared for Brady by training with Usman at Kill Cliff FC.

"The training has been good," Buckley said. "A lot of people are going to see all the things I learned from Usman, and from that fight, and the things I got to work on skill-wise when I was competing with him just in the gym. May 9, the world is going to know all the things that I worked on with Kamaru Usman."

Brady enters the matchup with an 18-2 MMA record and an 8-2 UFC record as the two wrestle-heavy welterweights meet on the main card without the usual press conference spotlight.
