Jim Miller is set for an extended run in the octagon after UFC 328, signing a new five-fight contract with the UFC following his latest victory.
The deal was finalized after Miller submitted Jared Gordon by first-round guillotine choke at UFC 328, held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. Miller also earned a $100,000 performance bonus for the win.
“Tonight was the last fight on his contract, and we just signed him to five more fights,” Dana White said. He added, “If he fights four times, it’s 50 fights in the UFC. If he fights the last one, it’s 51. Pretty incredible. I just threw it in there. Sean [Shelby] goes, ‘Let’s sign him to a four fight deal.’ I said, let’s sign him to a five fight deal. So yeah.”
Miller has been away from the sport for nearly a year to help his 14-year-old son through chemotherapy for a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He already holds the UFC records for most wins with 28 and most bouts with 47, and is one finish behind Charles Oliveira for the UFC record for most finishes.
