Jasmine Jasudavicius’ UFC Winnipeg Victory Could Be Overturned After Video Review
19-04-26

Jasmine Jasudavicius’ unanimous decision win over Karine Silva at UFC Winnipeg is under scrutiny after video appeared to show a possible rules violation between rounds.

Jasudavicius earned scores of 29-28 from all three judges, but footage from the event appears to show her with a Zyn nicotine pouch in her mouth during the fight. Under the Unified Rules of MMA, fighters are not allowed to have anything other than water during a bout.

The Manitoba Combative Sports Commission could potentially overturn Jasudavicius’ win based on the video evidence.

Zyn nicotine pouches are used by several UFC fighters, including Alex Pereira, and are allowed in the dressing room but not in the cage. In a past case involving Benson Henderson fighting with a toothpick in his mouth, the Washington commission said, "We will not be investigating," and added, "We do not have any rules that address a toothpick."
