Jared Gordon is gearing up for a high-profile matchup with longtime veteran Jim Miller at UFC 328, set for Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark.
Gordon, 21-8 in professional MMA and 9-7 in the UFC, will share the Octagon with Miller, who enters the bout with a 38-19 MMA record and a 27-18 mark inside the UFC. Miller debuted for the promotion at UFC 89 in October 2008 and has since competed 46 times under the UFC banner.
Looking ahead to Miller’s approach, Gordon said, "I don't think his game plan is going to change from his other fights," and added, "I think he's going to come out and do what he normally does. That's what I'm expecting. I think he's going to come out hard. He's in Jersey. He's in Newark. He's in his home state. I don't know how many more fights he's going to fight."
Gordon acknowledged Miller’s recent personal challenges, saying, "I know he's been through some tough times recently," and continued, "So he wants to get the win for his family. But like I said before, that doesn't matter. On Saturday, I don't care about your family. I have my own family. I have a daughter who needs me. I'm expecting the best Jim, and I know that I'll come out on top. ... Jim's a great name, legend of the sport, most UFC wins, most UFC fights. But come Saturday night, he's just another guy."
