Jan Blachowicz Out of UFC 328 Rematch With Bogdan Guskov

Jan Blachowicz has withdrawn from his UFC 328 rematch with Bogdan Guskov after suffering a torn meniscus in training, pulling him from the May 9 card at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

Blachowicz suffered the torn meniscus while sparring, derailing plans to run back his majority draw with Guskov from UFC 323 in December. It is not yet known if the Blachowicz vs. Guskov matchup will be re-booked or if a new opponent will be found for Guskov.

“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch,” Blachowicz said. “I was supposed to be in the States next week, but plans had to change. I’m beyond pissed. Last round of sparring, wrong position and a kick to the knee. Torn meniscus.”

“The plan and goal were clear, so the disappointment is huge. But this isn’t the end! I’m already working on getting back as soon as possible. Coming back to finish things on my own terms. … See you soon!” he added.

Blachowicz has not won a fight since May 2022. Since defeating Aleksandar Rakic, he has recorded draws against Guskov and Magomed Ankalev and losses to Carlos Pereira and Alex Pereira.

UFC 328 is headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland for the middleweight title and Joshua Van vs. Tatsuroa Taira for the flyweight title.
