Jan Blachowicz Draws Unbeaten Navajo Stirling at UFC Serbia
17-07-26

Jan Blachowicz has a new opponent for UFC Fight Night 283, as the former UFC light heavyweight champion will now face unbeaten Navajo Stirling on Aug. 1 at Belgrade Arena in Serbia.

Blachowicz was originally scheduled to rematch Bogdan Guskov on the card, but Guskov was moved to replace Khalil Rountree against Magomed Ankalaev in the UFC Fight Night 282 headliner on July 25 in Abu Dhabi. That shift opened the door for Stirling to step in.

Blachowicz enters the matchup winless in his past four fights and is coming off a majority draw against Guskov at UFC 323 in December. His last victory came in May 2022 by TKO due to injury against Aleksandar Rakic.

Stirling brings a perfect 10-0 MMA record into the bout, including a 5-0 start in the UFC. The 28-year-old City Kickboxing fighter is coming off a second-round TKO win over Ion Cutelaba at UFC Fight Night 279 in June and will be competing for the third time in five months.
