26-04-26

Jackson McVey finally broke through in the UFC win column on Saturday, submitting Sedriques Dumas in the first round at UFC Fight Night 274.

McVey locked up a D'Arce choke and forced the tap at the 2:14 mark of Round 1 at Meta APEX in Las Vegas, securing his first promotional victory after two previous UFC defeats.

McVey entered the middleweight bout with a 7-2 MMA record and an 0-2 mark in the UFC, having been finished in both prior octagon appearances. He previously lost by first-round submission to Brunno Ferreira in his UFC debut in July, then was submitted in Round 2 by Zach Reese in his second outing.

Dumas came into the fight at 10-5 in MMA and 3-5 in the UFC. He is now winless in his most recent four outings, and all five of his losses have come by stoppage.
