Undefeated finisher Iwo Baraniewski has a new opponent for UFC Vegas 118, as he is now scheduled to face Junior Tafa on June 6 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas.
Tafa steps in to replace Billy Elekana, who withdrew from the bout for an undisclosed reason. The heavyweight matchup joins the June 6 card as part of a lineup that also features a welterweight headliner between Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim.
Baraniewski enters the fight with an 8-0 record, with all of his wins coming by first-round finish. He earned his UFC contract with a 20-second knockout on Dana White’s Contender Series and later scored fast knockouts of Ibo Aslan and Austen Lane.
Tafa arrives on the quick turnaround. He recently scored a first-round knockout of Kevin Christian and is set to compete for the third time in four months when he meets Baraniewski at UFC Vegas 118.
