Ilia Topuria Set for UFC White House Title Defense, HBO Series

Ilia Topuria is set for a massive June, defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje at UFC White House while also headlining his own HBO docuseries.

Topuria will face Gaethje in a championship unification bout in the main event of UFC White House on June 14. The matchup follows Topuria’s knockout win over Charles Oliveira at UFC 317, where he captured the vacant lightweight title.

At the same time, HBO is rolling out a three-part docuseries on the champion titled Los Topuria, scheduled to premiere in June. Each of the three episodes will run 50 minutes and arrives one year after the trailer was first released.

Los Topuria chronicles Topuria’s rise in the featherweight division, his reign there, and his decision to relinquish that belt to pursue lightweight gold. The series also explores his life and family, as well as a stretch when he stepped away from competition to address personal issues, including what he described as “false allegations of domestic abuse” from an unnamed party.

Topuria, known by the moniker “El Matador,” previously had his story told on the big screen in 2024 with the theatrical release of Matador in Spain, focusing on his life as a two-division champion. After competing just once in 2025, the knockout over Oliveira, he is expected to be more active in 2026, starting with the high-stakes showdown against Gaethje and the debut of Los Topuria.
