Greg Hardy came in massively over the heavyweight limit for his co-main event bout at Fight Nation Championship 31, missing weight by more than 26 pounds ahead of fight night.
At the official weigh-ins, Hardy stepped on the scale at 292.3 pounds for his scheduled heavyweight clash with Darko Stosic at Belgrade Arena in Serbia. The heavyweight limit cited for MMA is 265 pounds with a 1-pound non-title allowance, putting Hardy over by more than 26 pounds.
Stosic, meanwhile, weighed in at 239.6 pounds for the same fight. Despite the huge discrepancy on the scales, the bout between Hardy and Stosic is still scheduled to go on as planned.
Hardy is a former NFL Pro Bowl lineman whose football career derailed after a 2014 domestic violence case and subsequent off-field issues. He later signed with the UFC, where his debut ended in a disqualification for an illegal knee and a later win was overturned to a no contest for using an illegal inhaler between rounds. Hardy lost his last three UFC fights by knockout and left the promotion in 2022, and he was arrested for domestic violence against a family member in the past year.
