Grant Dawson Rallies to Submit Mateusz Rebecki at UFC 328
10-05-26

Grant Dawson bounced back in a big way on Saturday, submitting Mateusz Rebecki in a dramatic lightweight clash on the UFC 328 prelims.

Dawson secured a rear-naked choke at the 4:42 mark of Round 3 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., capping a fight that swung sharply in momentum.

The American Top Team fighter started strong with a dominant first round before being rocked badly by Rebecki in Round 2. Dawson recovered, regained control, and ultimately forced the tap late in the final frame.

With the victory, Dawson improves his MMA record to 24-3-1 and his UFC mark to 12-2-1. He has now won four of his past five fights after entering UFC 328 off a first-round TKO loss to Manuel Torres at UFC 323.

Rebecki leaves Newark with a 20-5 overall record and a 4-4 slate in the UFC.
