UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre is stepping into the podcast space, announcing the debut of the GSP Podcast on May 26 at 7 a.m. ET.

St-Pierre’s new show, which will be released on his YouTube channel and other platforms, is designed as a short-form, high-energy series rather than a traditional long-form sit-down. Episodes are planned to run about 15-20 minutes with a strong visual component.

"The format that we will use, it's an episode of about 15-20 minutes. It's going to be very fast-paced, very informative. There will be no down time, so there will be lots of visuals. So it's not going to be like a sit-down podcast where people talk and sometimes people fall asleep. It's a lot of action," St-Pierre said.

According to St-Pierre, the GSP Podcast will cover a wide range of subjects. "I'm taking you on a journey to explore those topics, ranging from sports performance to healthy and wellness. UFOs, history, palaeontology. It's going to be very, very fun."

St-Pierre cited Demetrious Johnson and Joe Rogan as key influences in launching the project. "(Johnson) came to Montreal and he's actually that sort of convinced me to do this," he said, adding, "I was influenced by a lot of people, inspired by a lot of people to do this. One of them is also Joe Rogan."

The former longtime welterweight champion, who ended his career as a middleweight titleholder, described the show as a way to keep learning: "In a way it's like going to school, but you choose the subject that you want to learn from."
