Gamid Khizriev handed Biaggio Ali Walsh a first-round submission loss with a twister finish on the PFL Austin prelims at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
The lone lightweight bout of the prelims hit the canvas midway through the opening round, where Khizriev locked in the rare submission and forced Ali Walsh to tap at 2:32 of Round 1.
Ali Walsh entered the fight with a 4-2 record, while Khizriev came in unbeaten at 5-0. Both fighters have mostly finished their opponents rather than going to the scorecards as professionals.
The result marks the second submission loss for Ali Walsh, whose first came in June against Ronnie Gibbs. The PFL has promoted Ali Walsh heavily, as he is the grandson of Muhammad Ali.
