Francis Ngannou and Robelis Despaigne both emerged victorious at last weekend’s Rousey vs. Carano MMA event on Netflix, setting the stage for a potential heavyweight clash down the line.

Ngannou, a former UFC 265-pound champion, defeated Philipe Lins at the event, while Robelis Despaigne scored a win of his own by defeating Junior dos Santos.

In the aftermath, a matchup between Ngannou and Despaigne has been suggested as a logical choice for MVP MMA 2, and at least one notable name believes the Cuban heavyweight presents serious problems for Ngannou.

“This Cuban is a terrible matchup for Francis Ngannou,” Fabricio Werdum said, adding, “He has a lot of reach, speed, and precision. I’m 99% sure he’ll beat Ngannou by knockout.”

Despaigne, described as an ex-UFC heavyweight attraction and an Olympic bronze medalist in taekwondo, now finds his name linked to one of the most dangerous heavyweights in the sport following their successful outings on the Netflix stage.
