Former UFC middleweight Claudio Ribeiro was arrested Wednesday on a domestic violence charge in Varzea Paulista, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
MMA Fighting confirmed the arrest following an initial report from Globo. The report stated Ribeiro allegedly admitted to police that he assaulted his wife after an argument. According to the report, Ribeiro's wife called the police after allegedly suffering a broken nose from a punch to the face.
Ribeiro's team declined to comment on the situation.
Ribeiro holds a 13-6 MMA record with a 100 percent knockout rate. He fought four times in the UFC between 2023 and 2024, going 1-3 with a win over Joseph Holmes and knockout losses to Abdul Razak Alhassan, Roman Kopylov and Christian Leroy Duncan. Since late 2025, he has competed in Karate Combat, going 3-0 with knockout victories over Jayden Eynaud, Michel Borges and Curtis Millender.
