Glover Teixeira and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua are set to meet in a boxing match at Spaten Fight Night 3 in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
The bout between the former UFC light heavyweight champions is scheduled for eight two-minute rounds under boxing rules as part of the Spaten Fight Night 3 lineup.
Teixeira retired from MMA after losing his UFC light heavyweight title to Jamahal Hill at UFC 283 in early 2023, while Rua also stepped away from competition following a technical knockout loss to Ihor Potieria on the same UFC 283 pay-per-view event.
Spaten Fight Night has a history of booking former UFC stars in boxing matches, previously featuring Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen in the ring. A Wanderlei Silva appearance at a prior Spaten Fight Night event ended in a post-fight brawl.
The card will also showcase judo action, with Rafaela Silva facing Prisca Awiti and Beatriz Souza set for a rematch against Raz Hershko at Spaten Fight Night 3 in São Paulo.
