Former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad will take on Gabriel Bonfim in the main event of UFC Fight Night 278 in June.
Muhammad enters the headliner on a two-fight losing streak, dropping decision defeats to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315 and Ian Machado Garry in November. His last victory came in July 2024, when he claimed the welterweight title against Leon Edwards at UFC 304.
Bonfim arrives with momentum, riding a four-fight winning streak that includes victories over Ange Loosa, Khaos Williams, Stephen Thompson, and Randy Brown. He holds a 19-1 MMA record and is 6-1 in the UFC, and this bout marks his second main event after a November headliner where he stopped Randy Brown in the second round.
According to Betway, Muhammad is listed as a +150 underdog, while Bonfim is a -200 favorite ahead of their welterweight clash.
