29-04-26

Former BKFC fighter Lumumba Sayers has been found guilty of murder for opening fire during a children's birthday party in summer 2024.

Prosecutors described the killing as a premeditated revenge attack, and Sayers was also convicted of tampering with physical evidence after planting a gun on victim Malcolm Watson. Sentencing is scheduled for July 24.

Watson was targeted for his connection to the shooting death of Sayers' son, Lumumba Sayers Jr., according to case details. Sayers Jr. was a 2-0 featherweight with two appearances for Colorado Combat Club in Pueblo.

Sayers is a former BKFC fighter who also competed for the now-defunct Strikeforce promotion and, as of the time of writing, is still listed on the BKFC website.
