Federal authorities have arrested 31-year-old Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez in Omaha, Nebraska, for his alleged role as the ringleader in a terror plot targeting a UFC White House event.
According to officials, four other co-conspirators, including 19-year-old Tycen Proper, were taken into custody in Ohio, Missouri, and California. Homeland Security reported that Alvarez and his co-conspirators face federal charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds.
Homeland Security official Lauren Bis said, "This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country. He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House," adding, "He and his co-conspirators now face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds. He will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country."
Authorities have identified 23 suspects in the alleged plot, which they say targeted President Trump and other officials at the UFC White House event using explosive-laden drones and coordinated sniper fire. Officials also stated that Alvarez remained in the United States after overstaying a B2 visitor visa.
