EA Sports’ UFC 6 Five-Star Ratings Spark Intense Fan Backlash Online

EA Sports’ reveal of its exclusive five-star fighter list for the upcoming UFC 6 video game has triggered a wave of criticism from fans, who are blasting both the ratings and the overall star-based system.

The game, set to drop this June just days after a UFC card at the White House in Washington D.C., will rate fighters based on their perceived primes. That approach, along with specific attributes given to names like Conor, Ilia, and heavyweight Jones, has become a major flashpoint on social media.

“This rating system with everybody in there prime sucks . Anybody hyped about this game isn’t looking for simulation MMA game,” one fan wrote. Another simply added, “F—k your dumb ass star ratings, give us overalls back.”

Several comments targeted individual numbers and models, including, “How on earth does Conor have higher punch power than Ilia? YALL just make shit up with no rhyme or reason,” and, “HW Jones all 100 is a joke.” Others slammed the broader design philosophy, calling it “By far the stupidest rating system in all sports gaming.”

UFC 6 will arrive nearly three years after UFC 5, which was released in 2023. The new installment is expected to feature a revamped roster and ratings system while incorporating some previously used gameplay features, but early reaction to the five-star list shows EA Sports facing a skeptical fanbase ahead of launch.
