Diego Lopes and Steve Garcia are set to square off in a main card featherweight bout at UFC White House, taking place Sunday at the White House in Washington, D.C.
Lopes enters the matchup ranked No. 3 at 145 pounds in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Garcia holds the No. 11 spot. The bout is scheduled as part of the main card for the UFC event in the U.S. capital.
Weather conditions in Washington caused a delay to the proceedings, with the UFC announcing a new start time of 9 p.m. ET.
Lopes brings a 27-8 record into the fight and has previously fought twice for the featherweight championship, losing both times to Alexander Volkanovski. He gained attention in 2023 with a short-notice performance in a loss to Movsar Evloev, then rebounded with five consecutive wins, including a knockout of Jean Silva.
Garcia arrives on a seven-fight winning streak and is coming off a first-round knockout of David Onama in his first headlining opportunity in November.
