Deontay Wilder Survives Knockdowns, Edges Derek Chisora by Split Decision
05-04-26

Deontay Wilder went the distance and emerged with a split decision win over Derek Chisora in June 2025, in a bout where both heavyweights hit the canvas multiple times.

Judges awarded Wilder the victory after 12 rounds, with the American scoring knockdowns over Chisora in the eighth and again in the 11th round. Chisora answered back with knockdowns of his own, sending Wilder to the mat a couple of times in a hard-fought contest.

Wilder weighed in at 226.4 pounds according to DAZN ahead of the fight. The result adds another win to his record, which now stands at 45-4-1 with 43 knockouts, while Chisora’s record moves to 36-14 with 23 knockouts.

The bout was a rare trip to the scorecards for Wilder, who had only gone the distance three times previously before this split decision over Chisora.
