Darren Till has unloaded on Dana White and the UFC’s current direction, accusing the promotion’s longtime boss of being disengaged from the product and leaning too heavily on AI-driven content.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani, the former UFC welterweight contender said, "I just think Dana’s ego is getting a little bit too much out of control," and added, "I think he’s totally switched off from the UFC. I don’t even watch the UFC no more, really. I couldn’t tell you half the people who fight on it. The events just aren’t juicy no more. I think they’ve got very few stars left."
Till, once one of the UFC’s biggest U.K. stars before leaving the promotion on a 1-5 run to pursue healing and boxing, also blasted the media and White’s exchanges with reporters. "Every time Dana is in a scrum, it’s like these reporters are scared to say the real thing. And when they do ask questions, Dana is sort of like, ‘Who gives a s--t?’ We give a s--t! I give a s--t, so give us a f--king answer, baldy."
Now involved with BKFC, Till took particular aim at the UFC’s move toward AI-made promos and away from the story-driven videos he remembers. He referenced classic packages for Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey, Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier, and Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor, asking, "Where have they gone?"
Looking ahead, Till said that when he fights Mike Perry in bare-knuckle, he plans to work with David Feldman and Conor McGregor on "the promo to end all promos."
