Daniel Cormier says Eric Trump contacted him seeking insider betting information ahead of UFC Freedom 250, prompting the UFC Hall of Famer to briefly post — and then delete — screenshots of their direct messages.
According to Cormier’s account, the exchange began with a friendly note: "Hey Daniel, I'm gonna be attending UFC 250 tomorrow, saw you were casting, hope to see you there!" Cormier replied, "Yo eric didn't expect a dm from you, excited to meet you and the family much love brother!!"
The conversation then turned to betting. Trump asked, "Anything you can tell me about the fighters tomorrow? Who you got winning?" Cormier answered, "Haha i like to stay unbaised but I love to watch nickal fight." When Trump followed with, "You placing any bets?" Cormier responded, "Nah i'm actually not allowed to bet on any cards or anything."
Trump then asked, "Are any of the fighters injured that you know of?" Cormier replied, "I'm not quite sure why youre asking me this but i think theyre all in good shape.." The messages culminated with Trump writing, "I'll just cut to the chase. Are any of the fights tomorrow rigged? I've been eyeing the Lopes fight and I think an upset wouldn't be too unrealistic. $$" Cormier answered, "No none of our fights rigged and honestly I am appaled that you would even ask me something like that."
Cormier said he would "not tolerate this type of insider behavior and shame on anyone trying to ruin this beautiful event." UFC officials did not immediately respond to MMA Junkie's request for comment on Cormier's post and allegations toward Eric Trump.
