Dana White Predicts McGregor–Holloway 2 Will Shatter UFC Gate Record

Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return against Max Holloway at UFC 329 is already rewriting the record books, and Dana White believes the biggest milestone is still to come.

McGregor meets Holloway in a rematch headlining UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the former champion returning from a five-year layoff. McGregor has not competed since a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021 in which he broke his leg.

Tickets for McGregor’s comeback sold out instantly, and White made it clear why he thinks the demand exploded. “Listen, Conor, you guys know as well as I do, I mean he's a f*cking, he's a powerhouse, man,” White said. “I mean, when he's involved – tickets, as soon at they went on sale, went flying.”

White expects UFC 329 to surpass the promotion’s current all-time gate mark, set by the Sphere event at UFC 306 in September 2024. “This should break the (gate) record,” he said. “The record is the Sphere right now ,and this should break the Sphere record.”

White also pointed to the wider Las Vegas fight week surge. “We put Power Slap on sale. Power Slap sold out in an hour so, we added 250 or 200 more tickets, sold out in 15 minutes. I'm sure everything that's going on in Vegas, International Fight Week is selling out. So it's great to have Conor back.”
