Dana White Insists Outdoor UFC Freedom 250 Will Proceed Despite Weather

Dana White says UFC Freedom 250 at the White House will remain an outdoor show on Sunday regardless of what the weather brings.

The UFC event is scheduled for Sunday at the White House and is headlined by a lightweight title-unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. There is currently a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms on Sunday, but White made it clear the UFC is pushing ahead.

"Borsari, my head of production, is like the most OCD guy on the planet and we're getting – we're going to good on Sunday. I mean, if you read the internet the f*cking whole show is getting shut down on Sunday," White said, adding, "But I don't care if it snows, rains, whatever, we're going – and even lightning. You guys all played sports when you were growing up. Whenever there was lightning, you'd sit the lightning out, and then when it was over, you played. That's what we'll do. And if there would be lightning, we'd know it days before, and then we would work around it."

White also backed UFC executive Craig Borsari when asked about preparations, saying, "Not at all, (Craig) Borsari's all over that."

Commentator Joe Rogan, who will be on the call for UFC Freedom 250, has voiced reservations about the outdoor setup. "I don't like the idea of fighting outside at all," Rogan said on "The Joe Rogan Experience." He added, "June, and it's DC, and we looked it up last year: The same day was 100 degrees. Hot as f*ck. How about dehydration? The bugs are a big one. How the f*ck are they going to do anything about the bugs?"

UFC Freedom 250 will be available on Paramount+.
