Analyst Dan Tom has released his breakdown of the interim heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane, set as the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250 this Sunday.
The bout takes place at the White House, with Pereira moving up to heavyweight for the first time in his career to face former interim titleholder Gane. FanDuel lists the betting odds at approximately Pereira -108 and Gane -118, and the two are expected to make their walks to the octagon at around 10:45 p.m. ET.
The fight streams on Paramount+ and serves as an interim title bout with Tom Aspinal out indefinitely due to injury. Dan Tom’s prediction for the matchup is that Ciryl Gane wins by decision.
Pereira, a former UFC middleweight and light heavyweight champion, brings championship experience into his heavyweight debut. Gane, a former interim UFC heavyweight title holder and former French muay Thai champion, enters with striking credentials of his own. Glover Teixeira has been involved in Alex Pereira’s grappling and jiu-jitsu development as Pereira prepares for the move up.
