Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway Welterweight Rematch Set for UFC 329

Conor McGregor is officially set to return at UFC 329, facing Max Holloway in a five-round welterweight main event on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The bout marks McGregor’s first fight in five years and comes after a long layoff that included a canceled matchup with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, which fell through when McGregor withdrew due to a broken pinky toe. It took almost two years after that cancellation for McGregor to be scheduled for another fight.

McGregor sounded energized about the booking, saying, "It's like a musical – music to my ears, it is," and adding, "I'm out so long, five years. My body's fresh. My mind is sharp. I'm ready to come back. I've got a great opponent. I've got a great deal off the UFC. I'm very, very happy, They honored me, finally."

The Irish star also highlighted the matchup with Holloway: "July 11, and the opponent is a man I've beaten before in Max Holloway. He's an established fighter, an accomplished fighter, former UFC world champion, multiple time, so this is a quality opponent, and our last bout was martial arts mastery by yours truly, so I plan on doing it again. I plan on showing my growth and my improvements in there, so I'm very, very excited for it. Preparation is going very well. We're living, breathing and sleeping in the gym."

McGregor and Holloway previously met at featherweight in August 2013, when McGregor won by unanimous decision in a fight where he blew out his knee.
