Conor McGregor is officially set to return against Max Holloway in a rematch headlining UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
UFC president Dana White announced that McGregor and Holloway will meet in the welterweight division, nearly 11 years after their first bout. McGregor previously defeated Holloway by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 26 in August 2013.
The booking marks McGregor’s first fight since suffering a broken leg in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC XX in July 2021. He also withdrew from a scheduled fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in July 2024 due to a toe injury.
Holloway enters UFC 329 coming off a unanimous decision defeat to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March. The former UFC featherweight champion and BMF titleholder is currently ranked No. 4 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie lightweight rankings.
The announcement came in dramatic fashion, as Francis Ngannou was about to walk out at MVP MMA's debut event, which was headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano, when news of the McGregor vs. Holloway rematch broke.
