Conor McGregor Vows ‘Most Devastating’ Repeat Win Over Max Holloway

Conor McGregor is promising a brutal encore when he meets Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 on July 11 in Las Vegas.

McGregor and Holloway will run back their 2013 clash, a fight McGregor won by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 26 while tearing his ACL in the process. The rematch will take place at 170 pounds.

Looking ahead to the bout, McGregor made his intentions clear. “I sonned Max when I fought him last,” McGregor said. “I plan on doing the same again in most devastating fashion.”

McGregor acknowledged Holloway’s qualities but dismissed his rival’s chances of matching him. “Max is a durable fighter with great skill,” he said. “Not on my level, however. I'm a level above, in fact, multiple levels above – skill-wise, mental-wise, physical-wise. We're at 170 pounds and there's a few facets into this. He's been a busybody. In fact, he's got the most time spent in the octagon, which is eight and a half hours, which is a staggering amount of time. For me, I look at that and say, 'That means you can't finish people.' However, he's never fought at 170 pounds, and this is a 170-pound bout.”

McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in his 2021 trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier. In that time, Holloway has gone 5-3 and captured the BMF title by knocking out Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.
