Conor McGregor Predicts Max Holloway Retirement Ahead of UFC 329 Rematch

Conor McGregor is shutting down talk of a trilogy with Max Holloway and instead predicting the former featherweight champion will retire after their UFC 329 rematch on Saturday.

Holloway has publicly floated the idea of a third fight with McGregor after UFC 329, but McGregor has taken issue with that focus. McGregor called Holloway's trilogy comments disrespectful and said Holloway is focused on money rather than the danger of their upcoming bout.

"I find it disrespectful," McGregor said, before expanding on his stance. "I find it shows he is here for the economics of it. He must not realize the danger he is in. I forecast Holloway’s retirement on Saturday night. Not a trilogy for cash."

McGregor, who has not fought in five years ahead of this booking, also voiced confidence in how the fight itself will play out. "I can destroy Max inside 10 seconds," he said, later adding, "I have knockouts inside three seconds on my fighting record. I have Hall of Fame fighters, multiples, Hall of Fame UFC fighters, defeated and destroyed both together in under a minute. I can add Max to that."

The rematch comes more than a decade after their first meeting in 2013, a bout that involved significant grappling due to injuries to both fighters. Since then, Holloway has become a former UFC featherweight champion and is coming off a knockout win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300.
