Conor McGregor and Max Holloway dialed up the intensity in a trash talk-filled face-to-face interview with Joe Rogan ahead of their UFC 329 rematch.

The former champions are set to run it back in the main event of UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the bout now taking place at welterweight. McGregor previously defeated Holloway by unanimous decision in a featherweight contest in 2013.

McGregor repeatedly targeted Holloway’s claims about his boxing during the interview. "The best boxer? You said the best boxer? We're going to see, we're going to see now," McGregor said, later adding, "No. 1 pound-for-pound featherweight? After I beat you at featherweight, we're going to see now." He continued, "You're not going to lay a glove on me, and even if you do lay a glove on me, I'm going to laugh in your face," and declared, "It's another world here against me, and it's another world at this weight. I'm going to come out of this bout unscathed and in all glory." At one point, McGregor also stated, "Max is my child."

Holloway fired back with his own message of confidence and identity. "We talk about ancestors, we talk about warriors, I'm the Hawaiian warrior brother," he said. Holloway also promised high output against McGregor: "I'm going to touch your face over, and over, and over, and over again brother. I already know this. Welcome to the 'Mystic Max' era brother."

McGregor enters the rematch with a 22-6 professional MMA record and a 10-4 UFC mark, while Holloway stands at 27-9 in MMA and 23-9 in the UFC.
