Conor McGregor has taken a six-figure loss outside the cage, dropping $100,000 on an incorrect prediction for the World Cup final.
McGregor bet on Argentina to beat Spain in the tournament decider, but Spain came away with a 1-0 victory, leaving the former UFC champion on the wrong side of the result.
Reacting to the outcome, McGregor said, "And the winner is … Christ!"
The setback comes shortly after McGregor earned millions for his 69-second loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329 earlier this month in Las Vegas. His fighting career is currently on hold while he recovers from knee surgery after tearing his ACL and meniscus with jumping kicks that did not damage Holloway.
