The California State Athletic Commission has released the official fight night weights for the first MVP MMA event, headlined by a featherweight bout between Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano.
Rousey weighed in at 142 pounds and entered fight night at 143 pounds for the matchup. Carano hit 141.4 pounds on the scale, then returned at 152 pounds on fight night, a gain of 10.6 pounds.
Elsewhere on the card, Nate Diaz went from 168.6 pounds at weigh-in to 184.6 pounds on fight night, while Mike Perry climbed from 169.5 to 181.4 pounds. Namo Fazil registered the largest increase of the event, moving from 170.8 pounds on the scale to 198 pounds in the cage, a 27.2-pound jump.
The commission released the numbers as part of an effort to curb extreme weight cutting in combat sports. Ahead of the event, Gina Carano stated that she lost 100 pounds to return to fighting shape after her previous MMA bout in 2009.
