Colby Covington has set his sights on Justin Gaethje, predicting a rough night for him against Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250 and calling for a future clash on the wrestling mats of RAF.
Gaethje is set to face champion Ilia Topuria in a title-unification bout in the UFC Freedom 250 main event at the White House in Washington on Sunday, where he enters as a big underdog. Covington made clear he’s rooting hard against him.
"He's not just going to beat duck-lip Gaethje, he's going to humiliate him," Covington said, adding, "Justin Gaethje is about to become a meme forever, and I'm excited. I'm here for it. I can't wait to see it. We've never had a good relationship for many years."
Looking beyond UFC Freedom 250, Covington laid out exactly what he wants next for Gaethje. "After Ilia Topuria exposes him and they have to take his carcass off the South Lawn in DC at the White House, he should come over to RAF and get his ass beat on the wrestling mat against me as well," he said.
An additional comment highlighted their shared wrestling roots: "He's an All-American wrestler. We wrestled in the same conference in college, so I would love to see Justin Gaethje on the wrestling mats of RAF after he gets exposed and knocked out and flatlined against Ilia Topuria at UFC Freedom 250. God bless you, brother. America first."
Covington is currently 3-0 under the RAF banner and is scheduled to fight Arman Tsarukyan in the main event of RAF 11 on July 18 at UWM Panther Arena in Milwaukee.
