Ciryl Gane and Tom Aspinall are lining up a heavyweight title unification rematch in Paris, with both fighters publicly expressing interest in meeting on Sept. 5 at Accor Arena.
Gane, the new interim UFC heavyweight champion, said after UFC Freedom 250 at the White House that he wants to fight Aspinall in Paris to unify the heavyweight belts. The date lines up with a UFC event scheduled for Sept. 5 this year at Accor Arena in Paris, currently expected to be UFC Fight Night 287 with no fights yet announced.
Aspinall quickly responded on social media that he is willing to face Gane in Paris. “Paris in September, eh? I'll do that,” Aspinall said, before adding, “You're up for it? I'll do that. Let me know. I don't mind. I'll go to Paris. I'll be there. Ciryl Gane in Paris – let's go. Let's go. I'm back to training now – literally right now.”
Gane is coming off a win over Alex Pereira at UFC Freedom 250, a result that ended Pereira's attempt to become the UFC's first three-division champion. Gane and Aspinall previously fought in 2025, but the bout ended due to eye pokes from Gane, and Aspinall later underwent multiple eye surgeries.
Paris has hosted four UFC events to date, all Fight Nights, and the UFC has not yet announced a numbered event for September, though it has previously shifted cards from Fight Nights to numbered events.
