Chris Weidman and Thomas Gerbassi have been announced as members of the UFC Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
The news was revealed during the UFC 328 broadcast on Saturday night, with Weidman set to enter the Hall as part of the fighter wing and Gerbassi joining the contributor wing.
Weidman, a former UFC middleweight champion and two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler, made his UFC debut in March 2011. He knocked out Anderson Silva at UFC 162 in July 2013 to win the 185-pound title and went on to defend the belt three times with victories over Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, and Vitor Belfort.
"Chris Weidman is one of the greatest middleweights in UFC history,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a news release. "Chris consistently competed against the best athletes in the world during his career, and his victories over Anderson Silva changed the landscape of the middleweight division forever."
Gerbassi, remembered in the contributor wing, was a longtime combat sports writer who served as UFC.com editorial director and also worked for The Ring Magazine and BoxingScene. He died Sept. 16, 2025, at age 57.
